Even a simple activity can introduce children to scientific concepts and stimulate scientific thinking. By encouraging their natural curiosity and teaching basic scientific vocabulary, science education can help children make sense of the world around them, and understand how things work.
Curriculum for Pomelo’s Science lab is provided by FOSS, the Full Option Science System™ from UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science.
FOSS active investigation is more than hands-on science. It’s how science becomes accessible for all students. Students use science and engineering concepts and cross-cutting concepts to construct explainations for what happens in the real world. In the FOSS program, students are active investigators, not passive spectators.
